Electrical Engineering

The field of Electrical Engineering became an identifiable occupation in the latter half of the 19th century after commercialization of the electric telegraph, the telephone, and electric power distribution and use. This field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.

Machines and Drives Lab

The fundamental electromechanical, power electronic, and control theory in the context of electric drive systems. The capabilities and limitations of different types of electric machines (e.g., permanent magnet, induction) in various drive applications will be covered. MATLAB® Simulink® models will be used throughout the course to give students exposure to the dynamic behavior of these systems

Power Electronics Lab

This lab addresses issues related to energy conservation, alternate energy systems, zero energy buildings and locomotion. Alternate energy systems, power converters, PWM techniques and AC motor drives. Experiments and projects in this lab includes multilevel inverter topologies and control for high power drives, bond graph modelling for the design of switched mode power controllers, sensorless control for induction motors, desalination of seawater using hybrid energy technology, wind energy capture system for standalone applications, quality power supply with magnetic arm switching and solar energy transport to kitchen for cooking purposes.

Control and Instrumentation

Instrumentation and Control laboratory provides a “hands – on” experience and plays an important role for understanding of theoretical concepts. Edutech provides solutions to equip  Instrumentation and Control laboratory with instruments like temperature measurement, level detection, pressure measurement, flow measurement etc. and different types of valves, e.g., solenoid valves, servo valves, etc. On different panels or rigs these can be arranged in different control configurations to achieve specific control objectives.

Power Systems and Simulators

Power system simulation models are a class of computer simulation programs that focus on the operation of electrical power systems. Edutech Lab solutions include component libraries and analysis tools for modeling and simulating electrical power systems. These libraries offer models of electrical power components, including three-phase machines, electric drives, and components for applications such as flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) and renewable energy systems.

High Voltage Lab

High Voltage Lab specializes in the measurement and testing of equipment and components of Electric Power Engineering. These laboratories include studies that breakdown air under varying atmospheric conditions, especially moisture, varying supply voltage and under multiple insulation arrangements

Scada Lab

Scada (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) Lab focuses on increasing critical infrastructure protection capacity in strategic sectors (transport, energy, ICT, chemical, financial, water, food, health, and space, research, nuclear, etc.) by developing a laboratory which allow to test and search technologies that prevent, detect and mitigate cyber-attacks. SCADA systems are increasingly utilized to monitor and control plants and equipment in industries such as telecommunications, water, waste control, energy, oil and gas refining, and transportation.

Renewable Energy Lab

Renewable Energy Lab develops renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and practices, advances related science and engineering, and transfers knowledge and innovations to address the nation’s energy and environmental goals.
